Based at The Pump Room in Bath, this is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the UK's finest regional museums and historic sites in the stunning World Heritage site of Bath.
Heritage Services manages the Roman Baths & Pump Room, the Fashion Museum & Assembly Rooms and the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath. There are four shops at present in the Council's museums and historic buildings, with plans to open a shop in a new World Heritage Centre in York Street in 2019.
You will develop a strong merchandise offer, through the planned purchase and bespoke product development of retail merchandise for Heritage Services shops. You will be responsible for increasing the income potential of the product range to the customer, to maximise sales per square metre, to manage sales and the profitability of merchandise across Heritage Services shops, to secure the budgeted income target for Retail sales.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject, have strong proven commercial awareness and negotiating, analytical and decision-making skills. You will show demonstrable experience of retail buying and product development across multiple product categories, building commercially successful product ranges, you will have proven experience of working with suppliers and designers to create commercially successful products.
