We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Library Stock Logistics Officer to join our Libraries & Customer Services team.
The Position:
You will work across our 3 core Libraries at Bath Central Library, Keynsham Library and Midsomer Norton Library, our Mobile Library, and the Community Run Libraries. You will ensure that library stock and resources, both physical and digital, are relevant, responsive and available to everyone in the community.
You will make sure stock is stored, managed and rotated effectively. You will work collaboratively with the Libraries West consortium to deliver the best service to all our customers, and to support one another. You will provide training and share knowledge to support our operational teams and community volunteers.
You will proactively look for ways to develop and improve our systems and processes, ensuring efficiency and best practice while remaining customer focused. You will champion our collections, always looking for ways to promote and celebrate them both for our customers and our staff.
You will work with the other Stock Logistics Officer as a job share, building a great relationship and ensuring that all tasks, knowledge and information are shared and a complete service is delivered between you.

Essential:
- Previous experience of working in a public library and specific experience of library stock management
- Hold a professional Library, Information Studies, Information Management qualification, or equivalent
- Previous experience of a library management system and proficient in the key Microsoft Office packages (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Able to quickly master other software tools.
This position is a job-share with one other person.
The 23 hours per week must be spread over a minimum of 3 days, ideally over 4 days, to ensure the post is covered full time between both post-holders, with some crossover for handover and joint working. How we do this will be discussed and agreed with the successful applicant.
The role requires regular working at many locations across B&NES, as well as some home-working, and you must be able to transport yourself to all locations during working hours.
