Two exciting job opportunities have been created in Bath & North East Somerset Council to lead on the heritage led regeneration of two characterful High Streets in the market towns of Midsomer Norton and Keynsham. These are partnership roles co-funded by Historic England, the West of England Authority and Midsomer Norton and Keynsham Town Councils.
Are you passionate and knowledgeable about historic places? Do you have experience managing regeneration projects or grant schemes? Do you have experience of public realm improvements or shopfront enhancements? Are you keen to engage with a local community to help regenerate their High Street?
The High Street Project Manager for each town will develop and manage the programme set out in the Delivery Plan, encouraging heritage-led regeneration and co-ordinating the delivery of a range of schemes, including shopfront and historic building improvements, public realm improvements, pop-up shops, markets, animation projects, urban greening and art interventions.
We are looking for an excellent communicator, with the ability to engage, inspire and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including local residents, businesses and key decision makers in our partner organisations.
The successful applicants will have strong project management background in either public realm, transport planning or town planning and will have a background in heritage, architecture, conservation planning or urban design. The post will ideally require someone with experience of managing grant funded programmes.
