Bath & North East Somerset Council is looking for an experienced Engagement and Internal Communications Officer. Like all councils in the country, Bath & North East Somerset Council is facing the twin challenges of having to save a lot of money whilst meeting the challenges of increased demands and pressure for services. Our staff are a crucial part of the transformation programme to support delivery of Council services.
Working closely with the News and Media Manager and the Organisation Development manager the post holder will have a key role in engaging with colleagues across the Council on proactive internal communications and engagement campaigns.
The post holder will work with the Chief Executive, Directors and officers influencing the way people work, supporting internal networks and best practice, improving employee engagement and developing internal communication campaigns.
We're looking for someone with the creative spark who's enthusiastic about coming up with innovative ideas which push the boundaries across a range of internal media channels, work collaboratively with all of the communications team and has the energy to carry their own ideas through to completion, including tight deadlines and balancing priorities.
Although this post is initially being offered as a full time - one year fixed term contract it provides the successful candidate with an opportunity to gain wider experience in a fast moving and stimulating environment. If you have excellent writing skills across a range of media, full of creative ideas which capture the imagination and work well under pressure - then we're keen to hear from you.
You'll be based in the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath - with the opportunity to work flexibly around the rest of Bath and North East Somerset.
