Hours: 22 hours per week

North Somerset Sport and Active Lifestyles team is seeking a highly motivated sport / active lifestyle development professional to join its team.
This role will make an important contribution to achieving the council's aim of enhancing health and well being by supporting the development, delivery and targets of the team's service plan which focuses on specific demographic groups, ages and abilities.
As part of the Corporate plan and People and Communities strategy this post will focus on increasing participation with particular focus on those at higher risk of poor health. The post will also plan projects that use sport as a vehicle for social development to help alleviate problems around antisocial behaviour and inclusion, as well as supporting people to volunteer helping them towards the path of employment.
The posts will specifically co-ordinate and provide support to delivery of local sport and physical activity projects such as Health Walks, StreetGames, Inclusive Sport and Go4Life.
Specific responsibilities will change as capacity / support is required for sport and physical activity projects within the team and Council.
You will have:- Experience in sports development, active lifestyles or community development managing and delivering a wide range of sports/physical activity projects.- Degree/equivalent qualification is desirable- National Governing body qualifications are desirable- Experience of delivering training to volunteers is desirable - An ability to work within a team, develop new initiatives, monitor service targets, manage small delivery budget- Excellent planning and organisational skills
