Opportunity for a motivated senior manager to lead on our strategy and service planning for Leisure Services and Physical Activity.
Located within the public health team and reporting managerially to the Director of Public Health, you will oversee the commissioning of our leisure services and lead our strategic approach to the development of future leisure facilities, including responsibility for the ongoing management of the contract with GLL to operate and maintain our principal leisure facilities.
You will also lead the strategic co-ordination, implementation and monitoring of the Fit for Life strategy (physical activity strategy), working with key stakeholders to develop and embed shared objectives to get more people more active more often. Working closely with partners in the Integrated Care Alliance to lead and influence work programmes associated with supporting older adults within B&NES to be more active.
With responsibility for the client-side project management, you will lead a wide range of capital leisure projects of up to £2 million running over multiple years. This will include the commissioning and, or development of feasibility studies, preparation of business cases, procurement of contractors and, or operators, contract negotiation and contract management and monitoring.
You will be assisted by a Project Manager who will report directly to you. And, you will have the strategic overview of existing and future leisure facilities across Bath and North East Somerset, working with partners to identify and commission workable options for future leisure facility provision, delivering against our objectives and within capital and revenue resources.

Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
