Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term for up to 12 months
We are seeking a Family Support Worker to assist in the delivery of the North Somerset Council United Kingdom Resettlement Scheme (incorporating all Afghan Resettlement).
This is part of the government programme that has sought support from all UK Local Authorities to resettle refugees to assist with this global humanitarian crisis.
You will be supporting families referred to the schemes and it will involve liaising and working in partnership with local government, professional partners, voluntary groups and charities, developing a plan for the resettlement of the families within our communities
You should be well organised with effective communication skills both verbally and in writing. You will also be prepared to be flexible to achieve the outcomes of this scheme. The ability to engage with service users and partner agencies and to understand the challenges faced by refugees is essential.
This is a full-time post and being offered on a fixed term contract initially for 12 months with the possibility to extend.
This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
