We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Scientific Officer to join our Environmental Protection & Licensing Team. This is a full-time, fixed term position for 12 months.
The Environmental Protection & Licensing Team sits within the broader Public Health and Regulatory Services directorate and delivers a range of regulatory functions across the council.
As a member of the Environmental Protection & Licensing Team you will cover a wide range of environmental protection functions relating to Air Quality, Contaminated Land, Environmental Permitting, Scrap Metal Dealers, Planning Liaison, Bathing Water, Drinking Water and the monitoring of Outdoor Events. You will also be required to support the team in investigating nuisance complaints arising from residential, commercial and industrial premises.
You must hold a degree / diploma in Environmental Health, Environmental Science or relevant science subject with experience of working in a relevant field.
