Hours: 20 hours per week
Contract: Fixed term – 12 months
The Emergency Management Unit are looking to recruit a Business Continuity Support Officer for a fixed term of 12 months to assist with the roll out and imbedding of new Business Continuity (BC) plans and process within North Somerset Council.
As a BC Support Officer, you will be expected to engage with Service Leaders/Managers across all directorates within the council to assist the Emergency and Business Continuity Manager enable the Council meet it’s statutory duty under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 of ensuring robust business continuity plans are in place.
Duties will include:
Support and contribute to the development of training/exercising material and BC plan templates
Arranging and facilitating training events, exercises and workshops
Reviewing completed and returned BC plans for quality assurances purposes
Providing limited technical advice to Service Leaders/Managers and escalating when appropriate
Providing support to the Emergency Management Unit in response to a Business Continuity events
You will work under the supervision of the Emergency and Business Continuity Manager, and we have an excellent team of experienced and knowledgeable staff who will provide additional support.
You will have a proven track record of good team working skills and being able to communicate at different levels with an organisation. Some flexibility will be required in response to infrequent BC events.
