We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Protection Officer to join our busy Environmental Protection and Licensing Service. We are a proactive frontline service which delivers a broad range of statutory functions for the benefit of those that live, work and visit North Somerset.
The team is responsible for identifying, investigating, and assessing environmental problems and then working out the best approaches to tackle them. This will include the functions of public health funerals, statutory nuisance investigations, environmental monitoring and sampling (soil air and water), with a focus on animal and pest control work.
The successful candidate should have an interest in Environmental protection matters, have some practical experience in an environmental field and have a general understanding of the relevant legislation. The post would ideally suit those studying or recently graduating from an Environmental Health discipline. In return you will experience a variety of different tasks which will include the investigation of statutory nuisance, dog control and pest related issues.
